Hachis Parmentier (mashed potatoes with minced meat)

I'm inspired from my sister to cook this dish and improved it by the comments of my mother-in-law. My sister is cooking it with steak; on the other hand, I learned that French version is with minced meat. I enjoy to do it for my guests very much, because it is very quick and easy to do, but also delicious.

Enjoy your meal! Afiyet olsun! Bon appetit! Guten Appetit!

Hachis Parmentier and green salad nearby

Ingredients

- 1/2 kg potatoes

- 1 TB of butter

- 1/2 WG of milk

- 300 gr minced meat (I prefer beef mince)

- 1 mid-size onion

- 2 cloves of garlic (optional)

- 1 TS cumin

- 1 TS black pepper

- 1 TS sweet red pepper

- 100 gr emmental cheese

- 1 egg

- 100 gr crème fraîche (optional)

Preparation

Boil the potatoes until they are ready to be smashed.

When your potatoes are ready, you can add the butter and milk, then you can smash it with the help of a stick blender.

You can either directly smash the potatoes inside a pyrex like in my photo, or after smashing process you can put the mashed potatoes in your pyrex.

Now, at the second part, cut the onion and garlic cloves into small pieces.

Put the olive oil in a pan and roast the onions with garlics.

Add the minced meat with the spices and roast them together.

When your meat is cooked, lay them on the mashed potatoes.

Before putting into the oven, rasp the cheese, crack an egg on it and add crème fraîche.

Pour the cheese mix on the minced meat and cook it into the oven until the top changes the color.

With 180 degree heat, it would take around 15 minutes to see the color is changed.

And Voilà! Your meal is ready!

What is good nearby?

I suggest just green salad, because of the cheese and crème fraîche, it is a heavy meal. A small portion would be enough to make you full :)
