In the second part of my article, I will continue to introduce you three other cities that we visited and their local kitchens; Deauville, Caen, and Mont-Saint-Michel.

Deauville
Deauville is the 'Cannes' of the north France. They have an American film festival every year since 1975. So, you can expect to see lots of luxus shops, cafes and restaurants. If you visit Normandy, I strongly suggest you to stop by and walk around couple of hours or drink a glass of coffee as we did.
On the way, you will pass by the famous Normandy Bridge, which is in between the cities Le Havre and Honfleur.

We stopped by La Villa Gabrielle for a milkshake and a cup of coffee. As I mentioned before the prices are higher than usual because of the city's popularity and also the portions are smaller, but the quality and environment are there. To drink there are frappes, smoothies and milkshakes for 6€50 and 6€90, ice cream 3 balls for 8€90 in their menu. If you want to eat something for small hunger, there are sandwiches for 17€ or toasts for 11€. There is also a small menu like 1 crepe + 1 hot drink for 9€50, I think nice for tea time.
If you are really hungry there was also a pizza place nearby and a nice restaurant behind la villa Gabrielle.
On the way back you can stop by another bay, at Honfleur for drinking coffee or eating an ice-cream or for lunch/dinner. There are a several restaurants, which are more budget friendly than Deauville.
CAEN
Caen is another big city in Normandy, despite its tragic history during the second world war, it has still several historical buildings in the city. At the city center you can see several edifice churches almost each 500m, there are also more bars and cafes rather than restaurants, there is a bar street. Most important places to visit are Caen Memorial Museum and Caen castle.

We stayed 2 nights in Caen nearby the memorial museum. Around the museum, it is more looking like an industrial area. Honestly I didn't have much hope to find an amazing restaurant to share with you. We went to the restaurant, which was nearby and recommended by our hotel. When I saw La bouchereie from the outside, I was very surprised in a positive way. And when we entered, I was completely freed from my doubts. Interior is very big and looking like fast-food restaurant, but still able to keep its french style. They have a room for big groups and a cozy corner for a smaller group of friends. The menu is very comprehensive, includes so many different dishes and of course menus like in my photo. We chose to eat a menu, which includes a main dish and a dessert.

My husband chose a cheeseburger with french fries, the steak inside the bread was 110 gram. On the other hand, I had 160 gram of a steak with black pepper sauce accompanied french fries. Over the main course, I had an apple pie with vanilla ice cream. This apple pie is actually made from thin dough layers, originally it is called thousands of leafs - 'mille feuille'. My husband had a small duo dessert, one of them is tiramisu, other one is white cheese with fruits. Their white cheese is not a salty cheese, it is very creamy and sweet.
In the menu, drinks are not included, you have to pay additional 1€95 and the whole menu is for 15€20. If you go at the recommendation of a hotel like us, you can even get 10% reduction. Overall with its menu and interior, this restaurant is definitely taking a passing grade from me.

The second restaurant that I will recommend, is at the city center. As I mentioned at the beginning of my article, there are more bars than restaurants. After a long and tiring day in the city, we had a big hunger, accordingly need to eat well. That's why, in between few options we chose to eat from an Italian kitchen. La Buona Tavola is cute outside and inside. It has a nice environment and a friendly staff. It was Tuesday night but very crowded, so the waiting time was a bit longer than I was expecting. The menu is a typical Italian menu, there is no french menu, which includes an entry, a main dish and a dessert. You need to order them separately. We both ordered a pizza and a glass of red wine. My husband ate a calzone pizza, I ate an oriental pizza. Both of them were very delicious. After our pizzas, I ordered café gourmand. It includes three small desserts with a coffee nearby. The desserts were chocolate mousse, panna cotta and white cheese with lemon. My husband had a crême brulée. Honestly, the prices are cheaper than an ordinary french restaurant. The price range for a pizza is between 9€ and 14€ and the desserts for 4€ to 6€. My trio was the most expensive one, it was for 6€20. But I usually order this wherever we go in an ordinary day out, it is either close to this price, or more expensive. When you are really hungry at the end of the day like us, you should give this restaurant a try.
Mont-Saint-Michel
Mont-Saint-Michel was the last stop of our Normandy trip and the best for the last :)
As it is seen from the photographs, it is a magical place. It may seem like a small place, but there is so much to see in this small church village. It welcomes you with a glorious michelin restaurant and its streets continue with several other cafes and restaurants for each taste and each hunger. This time, I was decided not to leave Normandy without eating mussels. We didn't need to search it for a long time; we came across La Terrase du mouton blanc. It is a very big restaurant with three levels, even I should say four levels with a bathroom floor. It is a typical Norman restaurant with its several menus, which includes galettes and also sea products.

Due to the rainy weather, we chose to sit inside at the top floor, nearby a window that you can watch the people in the small streets. We both took the menu la bergère for 24€80, additionally we ordered half a liter cider to drink for 12€. As an entry plate, we drank vegetable soups. My main dish, as expected, was mussels in a cider sauce (this is optional, you can also choose cream as a sauce) with french fries. On the other hand, my husband has a traditional MSM omelet. It is a classical omelet but very puffy, juicy and creamy. It was also served with french fries. I will try to do this omelet and share with you. As a dessert, I took an apple pie with custard sauce and my husband took chocolate mousse. The restaurant with its environment, service, quality and taste should be one of the best place to eat in MSM, I definitely recommend you to try.
